Come learn more about local mission in Liberia

| September 4, 2024

Liberia is a country in Africa that is English speaking, but their language is about the only thing we share with the people there. Most live in horrible poverty, never get educated in any healthy way and are constantly trying to find food and water just to live. Life expectancy is quite low, and disease is rampant. Tribal fighting kills many and the illnesses the people die from can be controlled if we just find a way to get immunizations and treatment to the stricken.

A local nurse has been making a difference to the children and families in that country. Jami Kibler St. Germaine, a River View High School graduate, learned of the mission work of Hope 4 Liberia and has traveled to Liberia to supervise the nursing program there. Her goal is to care for orphans and share the love of Jesus with the staff and children. She also sponsors a couple girls there.

Her path to be the Lord’s hands in that country has not been an easy one. The heart she has for the people and children of Liberia is growing exponentially with each trip she makes and each child she touches. Her experience is one Women Of Witness wants to share with the Christian community. The Coshocton area will get that opportunity on Saturday, Sept. 21 at 5 p.m. at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church. There will be a pasta meal with marinara or alfredo sauce, salad and roll, cheesecake and cookies. Cost is $15. All proceeds go to the mission. Men and women are welcome.
