Community invited to gather in prayer

| April 29, 2022

For generations, Americans have turned to Almighty God to be our hope through trials and our joy in celebrations. It has been over 70 years since leaders established a public law to reflect our continual dependence on God through prayer, and each passing year brings another opportunity to praise our Creator and pray for our country.

The annual National Day of Prayer is an occasion for all Americans to gather and call out to God on behalf of our country. Our nation cannot ignore God’s sovereignty and goodness throughout history—His plans and ways are worthy of our praise and prayers. The 2022 theme stands as an invitation and call to worship: “Exalt the Lord Who has Established Us” having been inspired from the truth of Scripture found in our theme verse, Colossians 2:6-7 NASB “Therefore, as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, having been firmly rooted and now being built up in Him and established in your faith, just as you were instructed, and overflowing with gratitude.”

The local National Day of Prayer celebration will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 5, at the Coshocton County Courthouse gazebo. Prayer topics will include: The church, government, schools, first responders, and law enforcement. There will be a time of prayer for those who are dealing with drug addictions, alcoholism, mental health issues, and homelessness. Bring a lawn chair, a Bible, and your praying voice. Music will be provided by Solid Rock Foursquare Church.
