Community members share wishes for 2024
When asked about their wishes for the new year, many people shared private thoughts of the health of friends and family or financial struggles that they hoped would ease in 2024. Others hoped for reconciliation of family members or to find true love in the new year.
Charles Rinkes, superintendent of River View Local School District, shared his son was getting married on Jan. 1 and he was looking forward the wedding and the life his son and new bride would be starting. “For RVLSD, I’m looking forward to our district becoming the best version of itself in this new configuration. We are very proud of our past but more excited for our future and what we can offer our students, staff and community.”
“As someone who has lived in Coshocton since 1996, I see that this is Coshocton’s time,” Rinkes said. “From new businesses to entertainment opportunities to a new sense of pride in the area. This is Coshocton’s time to invest in itself, but also attract those who want the small town feel with lots of amenities.”
Lacey Richcreek has a wish for her and her aunt. “I wish one of us would finish writing a book.” Rose Richcreek is wishing for good health and love and laughter in families. Kelsey Duhamell said, “My wish for this year is to become so organized that nobody in my family asks me where anything is ever again.”
Marybeth Slater, from Slater Family Farm Outreach, said her wish was “to build my sensory friendly, accessible barn.” Becki Guinther said, “My wish is that my son, Chad’s, defibrillator surgery helps his heart.”
Sharon Burns, with Blue Star Mothers, wishes “to do more for our veterans.” Mandy Brenly is wishing to get healthier and be able to spend more time with family.
Emily Gephart is hoping for good health for her family and friends and continued growth in our community. Susie Stout said, “I wish/hope that people’s eyes would be opened and their hardened hearts would be softened. I wish that more people would fall in love with Jesus and they would love others as they love themselves.”
“More peace in the world and that people could just get along” is what Gene Hemminger is hoping for in 2024.
Whether your wish is shared or kept close in your heart, may 2024 see those wishes come true.
