Community presentation planned about Coshocton schools
The administration team of the Coshocton City School District invites members of the Coshocton community to attend an upcoming community presentation to learn about recent updates in the district’s facilities master planning process.
To accommodate as many schedules as possible, the district will conduct two separate community presentations. All district residents are welcome to attend one or both sessions.
The presentations will be held in McKinley Auditorium at Coshocton High School during the following dates and times: Wednesday, Jan. 18, 6:30-7:30 p.m. and Thursday, Jan. 26, 6:30-7:30 p.m. Those who attend either of the sessions should park in the main parking lots and enter on the ground floor entrance.
This announcement follows a recent community-wide survey (Survey #1) that the district conducted from Nov. 29 to Dec. 12. The results from Survey #1, which primarily asked questions in relation to the conditions of the Coshocton High School facility, will be reviewed during the community presentation. The presentation will also include a deep dive into each of the three master plan options that were developed by the district’s community advisory team. Information such as scope and cost of each master plan option will be shared.
Following the session on Jan. 18, a second community-wide survey (Survey #2) will be opened. Questions in Survey #2 will be different than those in the previous survey, primarily focusing on each of the master plan options. The survey will be open for two weeks, closing on Wednesday, Feb. 1. In addition to results from previous initiatives throughout the master planning process, the results from Survey #2 will be factored into the board of education’s decision to pursue a specific facilities master plan for the district.
“The community participation in the first survey was outstanding,” said Superintendent Dr. David Hire. “The administration team understands the importance of the community’s input so we’re extremely grateful for high level of participation. We hope to see similar interest in the community presentations and the second survey that follows.”
