Congressman Gibbs votes for certainty
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Gibbs released the following statement after the House passed H. Con. Res. 27, the House Budget Resolution for Fiscal Year 2016.
“Families across the country budget their expenses for the month and year. Why can’t Congress do the same? Today, the House passed a budget framework that would balance in less than 10 years without raising taxes. In comparison, the President’s budget will never balance.
“The House budget cuts $5.5 trillion in spending at record amounts and repeals Obamacare in its entirety to promote patient-centered health care solutions for American families and businesses.
“We are now facing increased threats to our national security and we must increase our defense spending to provide for our men and women in uniform.”
