Coshocton Christian School fall fundraiser to include auctions and more

| October 22, 2018

COSHOCTON – Coshocton Christian School invites the community to its fall festival and auction fundraiser to be held on Friday, Nov. 2 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the school gym, located at 23891 Airport Road.

Along with carnival games sponsored by the CCS classes, face painting, balloon animals created by the Balloon Cowboy, a baked goods sale, concessions and snack booths, this year’s event will feature both silent and live auctions raffling off themed gift baskets as well as items donated by individuals and businesses. In addition, a “Punish the Principal” booth will be highlighted where participants can use their game tickets to pitch water balloons at school principal, Gary Bennett.

“We wanted to think of a fun way to reach out to the community and show them who we are,” Bennett said, “but we also wanted to increase school spirit and unity. I think this particular fundraiser has done that.”

Besides games like a sucker pull, nerf challenges, corn hole, basketball shooting, pumpkin bowling, a frog flip, and an indoor maze, kids will enjoy posing for pictures with the CCS school mascot Wiley the Wildcat. Kids America and Pearl Valley Cheese will also be operating booths with kids’ activities. Popcorn and baked goods for snacks, and a concession stand for dinner will round out the evening.

The fall festival’s silent and live auctions will also help raise money for the school. The silent auction will go on throughout the evening, but the live auction commences at 7 p.m. with Tim Miller from Kaufman Realty and Auctions as the auctioneer. Quite a few baskets and items have been donated for the auctions, and each class at Coshocton Christian School created a themed basket to auction off.

“It’s amazing what these teachers, students and parents have been able to put together for these auction baskets,” said Mr. Bennett. “We now have an OSU basket, a rainy day kids’ basket, a breakfast basket, a fall themed basket, a Christmas basket and many other cool items for auction. Not to mention baskets and items that have been donated by individuals and businesses.”

Those who have donated items for the auction include: Kids America (a family membership); G.A. Fisher Diamond Jewelers (white and red crystal Block O pendant/matching earrings, rose sparkle hoop earrings); Cody’s Drain Cleaning Plus (100-watt Bluetooth CD/stereo system); Cross Improvements (Milwaukee  cordless router and cordless multi-tool); Coshocton Lumber (drill/impact combo kit); American Health Centers/Advanced Spinal Care (gym memberships and massages); Coshocton Village Inn & Suites (two one-night stays); Integrity Design & Construction; Zach Stevens (a Milwaukee jigsaw, battery and battery charger); Wiley’s Finest (a basket of fish oil supplements); Mission Auto Connection (car hand wash, oil change, and detail); Mobile Martial Arts (two vouchers for a month of classes each with uniform, voucher for self defense class); Keim Lumber (Yeti ice chest and four bag camp chairs); and Erwin Family Eye Care (Realtree Polarized Sunglasses).
