Coshocton City School District names Terri Eyerman as treasurer/CFO
At their March 2, meeting the Coshocton City School District Board of Education approved a contract with Mary T. Eyerman (Terri) to serve as the district’s new treasurer/chief financial officer effective March 3. In this role, Eyerman will oversee the financial operations of the district which includes a myriad of responsibilities including the accuracy and timeliness of all state and federal reporting, the development of the annual district budget and the district’s five-year forecast.
Eyerman has served the Central Ohio Transit Authority as director of finance and has served as treasurer/CFO of Big Walnut Local School District and Galion City Schools. Prior to that she was an area treasurer for the Columbus City Schools. She has 22 years of school finance experience. Eyerman received a bachelor’s degree in business and management from Ohio Dominican University and is a licensed school treasurer.
The Coshocton City School District Board of Education received assistance in the hiring process from K-12 Business Consulting and the Ohio Association of School Business Officials. After developing a treasurer search profile that was based on information provided by board of education members, administrators and staff, a state-wide search to find the next CFO was undertaken. The board screened and vetted the credentials of several potential candidates. From interviews conducted on Feb. 18, two finalists were selected for final-round interviews. The final interviews on Feb. 25 included a thorough interview and presentation to the board of education and superintendent. At the end of the process Eyerman was selected as the best candidate to provide the district financial leadership for the future.
Coshocton City School District Board of Education President Dr. Jere Butcher said, “We are impressed with Terri’s background in governmental accounting and school finance and her ability to articulate detailed data in layman’s terms. She has gained a wealth of knowledge of school system budgetary and accounting rules while serving in her two previous school treasurer roles. Terri has the skills to help lead our district forward. We are fortunate and excited to have her join our administrative team.”
Superintendent Dr. David Hire said, “We listened to our staff and administrators in seeking an individual with successful school finance experience and who is a skilled leader and communicator. I feel confident that Terri definitely meets that criteria and will be a great fit here. I am looking forward to working with her.”
Eyerman said, “I am very pleased and honored to have been selected as the district’s next treasurer/CFO. I want to thank the board of education and Superintendent Hire for the trust they have placed in me. Coshocton City School District appeals to me due to the warm and inviting climate of a small town that is very apparent here and I’m thrilled to be a part of it. I look forward to serving the board of education, students and parents of the Coshocton City School District.”
