Coshocton Community Band announces summer concert schedule
Summer evenings and beautiful music have been a tradition in Coshocton since 1966 – the first year the Coshocton Community Band performed. Since then, Friday evenings on the court square have meant music and this year is no different.
Hope Elliott, Coshocton Community Band President, said the band’s summer concert series started on June 3 and will continue until Aug. 12.
“The Coshocton Community Band will be performing every other week and the Walhonding Rube Band and the Lake Park Big Band will be performing the other weeks. There is no concert on July 8.” On Aug. 5, the gazebo was reserved for another performer, so there won’t be any local band concerts that evening, but there will be music.
“I’m really excited to announce that on July 1, our patriotic concert, the Pomerene Center will be there at 6 p.m. to make patriotic hats with all of the kids. This is completely free so I hope lots of families will come and have fun.”
Elliott said the band is always welcoming new members. “Anyone, from high school age up, who is interested can contact me by sending a message through our Facebook, Instagram or TikTok accounts.”
All Coshocton Community Band Summer Concert Series performances are free and start at 7 p.m. Everyone is encouraged to bring a lawn chair. If the performance is canceled due to weather, it will be announced on WTNS and all of their social media pages.
