I appreciate your confidence in my office. I would also like to thank the Coshocton County Republican Party, its central committee, and party members for welcoming me back with open arms and for your generous financial support. Thank you to Steve and Kim Hall for going door-to-door and for your support and encouragement. Thank you to Joy Padgett, Briana Conkle, Marlise Hitchens, Connie Allen and Michelle Carpenter for all your assistance, and to my family and friends. Thank you to my awesome staff; Lori, Peyton, Kiana and Joe, I could not do it without you. And lastly I appreciate the voters and citizens of our county who did not join in the negativity. I have never felt that it was needed to be successful.”
Voters in Coshocton County voted down a children services levy replacement for 1 mill for five years with a vote of 8,725 to 6,924. Jed McCoy, director of Coshocton Job and Family Services said, “We want to thank the committee that tried to help us and all those who did support us. We will go back and regroup and see what we can do. That’s about all we can do. It’s very unfortunate. The ones suffering are the kids and it is frustrating because I know the work that our people do. So, we’ll go back and regroup but we will still do the best job we can with what we have. Thats all we can do.”
Voters in Coshocton County voted for an emergency medical services levy for an additional 1 mill for five years with a vote of 7,969 to 7,672. Todd Shroyer, director of Coshocton County EMS was happy with the outcome. “I am very pleased with the community and it’s a huge community that helped us, all the mayors from the different villages and the city, we also had Jon Mosier. We had a lot of help. We are very thankful to the voters to allow us to keep it going. It is very important. I mean I didn’t want to over emphasize it but it truly is a matter of life and death over the course of a year, so many times. We have four trucks out right now and if the levy hadn’t passed we would have had to drop back to three trucks. We are very appreciative that we got the votes and we can hang on to our fourth truck. “
