COSHOCTON – Coshocton Dentistry celebrated the 15th anniversary of its 80/20 Club with its largest group ever.

“This is the highlight of our year,” said Brian Dunlap, DDS. “We are thankful you are here.”

The brunch celebration honored the office’s patients who are in their 80s and still have at least 20 of their natural teeth.

“I found out about this idea (of the 80/20 Club) at a meeting and thought it sounded like fun and it has been a lot of fun,” Dunlap said. “We form relationships with the people we serve at our practice. I look at the list of people here and these people are my friends.”

He also commended his staff for taking the time to educate patients and get to know them and their needs.

“We have a great team,” Dunlap said. “They have a genuine, caring spirit and want to help their friends and family keep their teeth for a lifetime.”

Patrick J. Laaper, DDS, Dunlap’s partner at Coshocton Dentistry also thanked those in attendance.

“We appreciate you being part of our practice and allowing us to help you with your dental health,” Laaper said.

The 80/20 Club members were treated to a brunch catered by Schumaker Farms on Oct. 9 at Coshocton Village Inn and Suites.

“I’ve been seeing him (Dr. Dunlap) ever since he’s been in business,” said James Bradford, an 81-year-old member of the 80/20 Club. “Dr. McConnell took him under his wing and then I stayed with him. I mainly see Dr. Dunlap, but I’ve been very satisfied with either one of them. They are very friendly and go out of their way to take care of problems and fit you in.”

Ruth Cunningham, who has worked for Coshocton Dentistry for 16 years, takes care of the records for the 80/20 Club.

“I think the club is marvelous,” she said. “I try to keep the best records I can. Everyone gets a handwritten invitation and then we follow up to see if they are coming or not. There are 87 people and when we first started we were just in the lunch room at our office.”
