Coshocton Elementary receives grant to build educational outdoor classroom
Coshocton Elementary announced it was awarded a generous grant of $20,000 from the Montgomery Foundation. The grant will support the school’s ongoing efforts to enhance the student learning experience and the building of the Leslie Croft Outdoor Classroom.
The funds will be used to purchase the materials to build an outdoor classroom that takes learning beyond the four walls of a classroom. This project will benefit more than 800 students, helping to foster a more dynamic and inclusive learning environment.
“We are thrilled to receive this grant from the Montgomery Foundation,” said Tony Meiser, principal of Coshocton Elementary. “This funding will allow us to provide even more opportunities for our students to excel and reach their full potential. We are committed to offering the best possible education, and this support will help us continue to innovate and grow.”
Tiffany Shook, title teacher and co-chair of the Leslie Croft Outdoor Classroom committee, sad, “We couldn’t think of a better person to name this classroom after. Leslie was a second grade teacher here at CES for more than 15 years. She loved to see the joy of learning in her students and loved to be outdoors with them. Leslie unfortunately lost her battle with cancer in June 2022. We look forward to seeing how this funding contributes to the continued success of the school and its students.”
