The Coshocton Fatherhood Initiative is a subcommittee of the Family & Children First Council, a county-wide consortium group which identifies and addresses the needs of families (including fathers) in Coshocton County. The group’s mission is to strengthen the family unit through engaging and empowering fathers and father figures to be meaningfully involved in and committed to the child’s well-being.

Since its inception in December 2004, the fatherhood initiative has impacted several thousand fathers through workshops, elementary school and county wide breakfasts, essay and drawing contests, father/child events, and other activities using national best practice curriculum and locally-developed  programs containing “what works” strategies. These programs and services are offered to all fathers and father figures including the unwed, married, divorced, separated, grandparents, teen or expectant fathers of Coshocton County.

The fatherhood initiative believes that fathers are an essential piece in their child’s life. If you would like to know more or volunteer your time to the fatherhood initiative, we have a place for you and you may contact Johnson at 740-610-6410.
