Coshocton Foundation awards grants

COSHOCTON – The Distribution Committee of the Coshocton Foundation met recently and awarded 12 grants totaling $62,363 to various community organizations. The grants awarded include:

  • $35,000 to Our Town Coshocton for their Downtown Coshocton – Courthouse Lighting Project
  • $5,000 to Ronald McDonald House to provide Nights of Rest for Families from Coshocton County
  • $5,000 to the Coshocton County Career Center to help provide updated equipment for the health tech lab, to be utilized by all career center graduates
  • $3,500 to Echoing Hills Village to assist with the replacement of unsafe hay wagons used by campers
  • $3,000 to River View Local School District for the book series All-Stars; books for Keene Elementary students
  • $2,500 to Junior Achievement of North Central Ohio for JA K-12 educational programming in Coshocton County
  • $2,200 to the Coshocton County Soil & Water Conservation District to Build a virtual watershed sandbox model
  • 2,078 to the Johnson-Humrickhouse Museum to add signage to the back of the building to attract visitors from SR 16
  • $1,500 to Coshocton City Schools to provide enrichment activity for gifted seventh/eighth graders
  • Three smaller grants totaling $5,735 to Kids America, Coshocton County Board of Developmental Disabilities and  Kno-Ho-Co-Ashland CAC were also approved

The Coshocton Foundation was established in 1966 and has distributed more than $7.75 million in grants to community organizations from its unrestricted fund. In addition, the foundation has 154 restricted funds from which distributions are made for specific purposes.
