Coshocton Foundation awards grants
The distribution committee of the Coshocton Foundation had its second meeting of fiscal year 2020 recently and awarded nine grants totally $53,868.44 to several community organizations.
The grants include: $15,935 to the Coshocton City and County Park District for upgrades to the softball building and district office deck replacement with handicap ramp and designated parking; $8,000 to the Coshocton Opportunity School for Chromebooks for students without computer access at home; $8,000 to the Village of Warsaw for repairs, resurfacing and repainting of River View Community Pools at Warsaw Park; $5,749 to the Roscoe Village Foundation, Inc. for equipment to be used in an archival digitization and storage project for. historic photographs and documents; $5,000 to River View athletic boosters for the rental fee for the River View Swim team to utilize the CHS pool; $4,790 to the Muskingum Valley Council, Boy Scouts of America for additional cleaning and sanitization supplies to help ensure camper safety during the COVID-19 pandemic; $3,250 to Rural Action for the Greater Walhonding Conservation Alliance Project outreach and education to Coshocton County residents about Walhonding River and its diverse biology; $1,644.44 to Coshocton City Schools for 10 automatic external defibrillator (AED) cabinets and first aid kits; and $1,500 to the Coshocton County Fatherhood Initiative to support fathers’ interactions with families with a virtual all-county breakfast during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The foundation’s distribution committee will hold its final meeting for fiscal year 2020 in September, with a grant application deadline likely to be in mid-to-late August.
