Coshocton Regional Medical Center Family Physicians Clinic welcomes new family nurse practitioner
COSHOCTON – Certified Family Nurse Practitioner Lydia Knapp has recently returned to the community where she began in healthcare as a registered nurse, but this time she returns a provider serving in family practice at the Family Physicians Clinic in Coshocton.
Lydia Knapp, CFNP, began a career in nursing in 1996, working in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Coshocton County Memorial Hospital for five years; the last three as the charge nurse for the unit. She went on to work at other regional hospitals, including Genesis and Licking Memorial, where she worked primarily in emergency services, developing her knowledge of critical care, post-cardiac care and emergency medicine.
Knapp earned her Master of Science in Nursing – Family Nurse Practitioner from Walden University in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Muskingum University in New Concord, Ohio. She holds certifications in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Trauma Nursing (TNCC), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Basic Life Support (BLS).
Having worked much of her career in emergency services, Knapp has a unique perspective on her new role as a Family Medicine Provider. “In emergency medicine, I often saw patients whose chronic conditions went unchecked, creating urgent health issues,” said Lydia Knapp, CFNP. “In family practice, we are positioned to help manage chronic health conditions with our patients and, when a hospital stay is necessary, to provide continuity of care as you recover. I enjoy working with the team at Family Physicians and look forward to welcoming new patients to my practice.”
Lydia Knapp is accepting new patients; call (740) 622-0332 to schedule an appointment.
