Coshocton’s airport one of 5 to receive grant funding

U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) announced that the Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has awarded five Airport Improvement Program grants totaling $4,296,207 to five airports in Southeast Ohio, including Coshocton’s.

“Ohio airports are vital infrastructure supporting travel and commerce in our state,” Brown said. “These investments will enhance safety and operations at Southeast Ohio airports and improve travel for area residents and businesses.”

Funding from FAA includes:

  •  $2,318,652 to the Harry Clever Field in New Philadelphia to shift or reconfigure the existing taxiway.
  • $1,826,085 to the Carroll County-Tolson Airport to reconstruct or replace the airport lighting vault, install a visual guidance system, reconstruct an airport beacon, reconstruct runway lighting, and rehabilitate the runway.
  • $99,000 to the Vinton County Airport to rehabilitate the runway.
  • $27,000 to the Pike County Airport to construct a taxilane.
  • $25,470 to the Richard Downing Airport in Coshocton to install a runway visual guidance system and rehabilitate runway lighting.
