COSI on Wheels visits West Lafayette

COSI on WheelsCOSHOCTON – Children were treated to a presentation by COSI on Wheels on June 12 as part of the Coshocton Public Library’s summer reading program. The theme of the program was the incredible human machine and children were taught about the many body functions our brain controls such as being able to move our body parts, see, breath and hear. Next they learned about different systems of the body like our skeletal, nervous and digestive systems. They also learned how food fuels our bodies which these children pictured were helping demonstrate. COSI on Wheels was held at the First Baptist Church in West Lafayette and made possible by generous donations from the Janusian Club, West Lafayette Rotary Club and West Lafayette Lions Club. “We want to thank our donors because the library could not afford to do something like this,” said Deborah Crowdy, from the library. “Not one penny of library money went toward this. It was all underwritten by these West Lafayette organizations.” She also gave a big thank you to the First Baptist Church for allowing the library to hold this program there.

I started my journalism career in 2002 with a daily newspaper chain. After various stops with them, I am happy to be back home! I graduated from Coshocton High School in 1998 and received a Bachelor of Arts in Communication in 2002 from Walsh University. I also earned several awards while working for daily papers, including being honored by Coshocton County’s veterans for the stories I wrote about them. I am honored and ready to once again shine a positive light on Coshocton County. I also am the proud mother of a little girl named Sophia!
