football3WARSAW – The River View Cubettes cheered on the varsity football team during its Aug. 22 scrimmage against Newcomerstown.

The game was called a Jamboree, which is a fundraiser for the Ohio High School Athletic Association. Each participating school pays $250 and the game is supposed to serve as a rehearsal for the regular season. Admission also may be charged by the host school.

Participation fees go to the OHSAA catastrophic insurance fund, which is used to help junior and senior high athletes who experience injuries with medical bills exceeding $25,000.
