Diane Lena (Welker) Blubaugh
Diane Lena (Welker) Blubaugh, 76, died Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at Altercare Majora Lane in Millersburg.
She was born Nov. 20, 1948 in Batavia, NY to the late Elsworth and Doris Welker. She worked at Heath Consulting for 6 years, and later became the first woman to work in Ohio for Columbia Gas, where she served for 23 years until her retirement. She was a strong-willed, ambitious woman. She was an extremely hard worker, had a CDL, and her greatest achievement was having her own farm.
Diane loved showing her appaloosa horses. She was involved in the Great Lakes Appaloosa Association, and the Buckeye Appaloosa Association. She was also a member of the Buckeye Hereford Association-Ohio Hereford Women.
She is survived by her husband of 10 years, David Blubaugh of Danville, whom she married March 1, 2015; a son, Kirk (Sandra) Smith of Bellville; grandchildren, Andrew Mattone, Savannah Coffman, John T. Mattone, Kyle Stamper, and Brock Lambert; numerous great-grandchildren, including Emilie Mattone, Danny Coffman, Mackynzi & Kaylee Stamper, Emma & Maggie Lambert, and Areonna, Aiden & Katie Stamper; several siblings, including a sister, Kay Hupp of Woodsfield; a former son-in-law, Rick Stineman of Lexington; step-children, Thad (Heather) Blubaugh of Mt. Vernon, Josh Blubaugh (Jessica Grondolsky) of Fairlawn, and Abby (John) Bledsoe of Xenia; step-grandchildren, Hunter Blubaugh (Bella Metcalf), Lacey (Frank) Winter, Riley & Hannah Blubaugh, Isaac Blubaugh, and Hazel & Henry Blubaugh; and step-great-grandchildren, Gwendolyn & Francis Winter, and Stevie Blubaugh.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Christine Stineman; a grandson, Ryan Stamper; and a great-granddaughter, Willow Lambert.
A funeral mass will take place 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at St. Luke Catholic Church, 307 Market St. Danville, OH 43014, with Father Homer Blubaugh officiating. Burial will follow in St. Luke Cemetery. Visitation is one hour prior to service time at the church. Fischer Funeral Home in Danville is handling arrangements. FischerFuneralHome.com
