Dogwood Festival lunches feature youthful talent
COSHOCTON – The Coshocton High School Jazz Band got people up and moving around during its Dogwood Festival performance.
Austyn Talbot , the 2 ½ year old granddaughter of Tom and Karen Edwards, happily danced to the music in front of a court square full of people on May 3.
“She is a performer,” Karen said.
The Coshocton County Court Square is the place to be this week for good music, entertaining shows and yummy food.
The May 3 lunch featured food from the Sportzone and the May 2 meal came from Medbery Marketplace. The first lunch of the week also included a program by the Coshocton Christian School Drama Department.
The students gave the public a sneak peak of their A Night of Music and Monologues that they will present at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, May 6-7, at Coshocton Christian Tabernacle. There is no admission price, but donations will be accepted.
“It’s a bunch of different short scenes and songs that we put together to tell a couple of different stories,” said Hannah Lanz, who teaches at the school and leads the group. “Last year we had a drama class and they did a play. The students had such a good time that we decided to build the drama program and do it as an extracurricular activity.”
Lunch and entertainment will continue all week at noon on the court square. The meals are $7 and the rain site for the event is The Presbyterian Church.
