Don Clare Rushing

COSHOCTON- Don Clare Rushing, 65, passed away at OSUCCC James on February 5, 2019 after a brief battle with cancer. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Brenda (Cochran), and his daughters Ashley (Christopher) Cox, and Lacey (Chaz) Gustines.

Don was born in Somerset, Ohio on January 17, 1954 and moved to Coshocton County in 1968. He graduated from River View High School in 1972 and went on to join the United States Air Force in 1973. He served 14 years until he was honorably discharged as a Master Sergeant. Don retired from AK Steel after 30 years of employment.

Don was an avid drag racer and race car fabricator. He also had a great love for motorcycles. One of his favorite past times was taking motorcycle trips around the country with his wife Brenda, and their friends. He also enjoyed spending time with his three grandchildren, Delaney and Hudson Cox, Colton Gustines, and step-grandson Holland Gustines. Don was a devoted family man and will be remembered as such. He was preceeded in death by his mother Phyllis (Leach), father Don A., and two sisters, Connie Grace and Carol Conger. There will be no services, per Don’s wishes. A Celebration of Life will be planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice
