Douglas “Doug” Alan Cushman
Douglas “Doug” Alan Cushman, age 66, of Coshocton passed away on March 4, 2025. He was born June 1, 1958 to Hubert Jr. Cushman and Dorothy (Kempton) Ehrenberg in Coshocton, Ohio.
Upon graduation from Coshocton in 1976, Doug had the opportunity to travel. He lived several years in the Cayman Islands as well as London, England. Doug moved back to Ohio to raise his family and became the owner and operator of Cushman Development in Dublin, Ohio and eventually returned home to Coshocton.
Doug loved camping and spending quiet times enjoying nature. He was extremely well read and was known to be a history buff, in addition to being an excellent craftsman. Doug had a passion for cooking, and would often bring baked goods and food to neighbors. He never met a stranger.
Doug is survived by his children, Grant Cushman, Eden Cushman, Samuel Cushman, and Erin Cushman; grandsons, Brandon and Tyson; his siblings, Linda (Erik) Cushman, Hubie (Deana) Cushman, Dick (Jennifer) Cushman, twin, Janet (Mike) Rettos, and stepsister, Gretchen Milin, alongside several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Debbie Cushman, and his nephew, Brett Rinehart.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2025, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 pm with Pastor Mark Aaron officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Doug’s name to the International Rett Syndrome Foundation (IRSF) or a mental health support organization of your choosing.
