Dr. Francisco Frial Sison
Dr. Francisco Frial Sison, age 84, of Coshocton, passed away on Monday, February 12, 2024. He was born in Dumalag, Capiz, Philippines on June 16, 1939, to the late Pedro and Amelia (Frial) Sison.
After graduating with his medical degree from the University of Santo Tomas in 1963, he returned to his hometown to practice family medicine until 1968. He left for the United States for further training in Steubenville and Pittsburg before his internal medicine residency at Brown University in 1971. Once completed, Dr. Sison worked at Deaconess Hospital in Cleveland for three years before calling Coshocton home in 1976. For over 40 years his practice provided care for the community until his retirement in 2006. He enjoyed playing the piano, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
On November 28, 1981, he married Vener (Chavez) Sison, who survives. In addition to his wife, Dr. Sison is survived by his son, Andrew (Maria Gabriela) Sison of Gahanna; granddaughter, Alina Sison; siblings, Dr. Milagros Sison-Viloria, Professor Corazon Lopez and Mario Sison Esq. all of the Philippines; and several nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, Francisco is preceded in death by sister Roberta, and brothers Liborio, Ramon, Ernesto, and Celso.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, February 22, 2024, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 23, 2024 at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Thomas Gardner officiating. A cremation will follow. A light reception will be held after Mass at M Event Centre, 24688 County Rd. 10, Coshocton, OH 43812.
