Drown to serve as interim executive director
COSHOCTON – The board of commissioners for the Coshocton Metropolitan Housing Authority met in emergency session on Oct. 21 upon concurrence of four of the five board members. One board member is selected by the Coshocton County Commissioners, one board member is selected by the Coshocton County Probate Court, one member is selected by the Coshocton County Court of Common Pleas, general division and two board members are selected by the mayor of the City of Coshocton. All members serve five-year staggered terms and serve without pay or compensation of any kind.
Members of the media were notified of the emergency session. The emergency session was called to make immediate personnel-related changes to the agency. The meeting was called to order at 1 p.m. pursuant to the emergency notice and the board went into executive session citing emergency personnel issues and asked Board Attorney William Todd Drown and Administrative assistant Joan Neville to join them. The board came out of executive session after several hours and unanimously elected Crystol Weidger as the new president of the board of commissioners. The board also selected Drown to serve as the new interim executive director pending further order of the board. Upon selection of Drown and after his acceptance of the position, he announced his immediate resignation as legal counsel for the board. The board meeting for Tuesday, Oct. 24 was canceled and will be rescheduled.
