Duane Douglas Beck
COSHOCTON – Duane Douglas Beck, age 80, of Coshocton, passed away in the comfort of his home on Monday, June 12, 2017.
Duane was born in Coshocton County on December 19, 1936 to the late Douglas and Laura (King) Beck. Duane was a graduate of the 1954 class of West Lafayette High School. He served his country honorably in the United States Airforce from 1954 to 1958. On July 3, 1960, he married Wanda Kitchen, who survives. He then worked for many years as a press operator for General Electric. Duane was a member of the Canal Lewisville United Methodist Church, the Coshocton Eagles #761, and the Coshocton VFW #1330. He also was the co-founder of the Coshocton County Handicapped Society. Duane had a love for farming and for coaching little league baseball.
Along with his wife, Duane is survived by three children: Denise (Gregory) Jones , Timothy (Mary) Beck, and Michaela (Chad) Pew; seven grandchildren: Heather (Eric) Stafford, Kalie (Wesley) Wallace, Mathew (Daniele) Beck, Nathan Pew, Brendan Pew, Kaden Pew, and Sophie Pew; and six great-grandchildren.
Along with his parents, Duane is preceded in death by an infant daughter, Jill; sister, Doris Lowe; infant sister, Diana; and infant grandson, Samuel Pew.
Calling hours will be held at Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home on Thursday, June 15, 2017 from 5-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Canal Lewisville United Methodist Church on Friday, June 16, 2017 at 1 p.m. with Reverend Ron Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Canal Lewisville Cemetery with the Coshocton County Veterans Council performing military honors.
