Edward A. Dunfee

Edward A. Dunfee, 75, of Coshocton passed away at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville on Monday, May 2, 2022. His battle with serious medical issues in recent years showed his courage in facing life’s challenges with a smile. Despite the pain, Ed came out a hero and stayed strong until the end.

Ed was born in Coshocton on Jan. 22, 1947, to the late David A. and Ruth (Jarvis) Dunfee.

He honorably served in the US Army from 1966-1968 and worked for The Longaberger Company for many years.

Ed was a lifetime member of the AMVETS, American Legion and the Eagles. He loved spending time outdoors, hunting, fishing, and camping at Walhonding Hills Campground. In recent years, Ed enjoyed sitting on his front porch watching the cars go by his house on US HWY 36.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Betty (Holmes) Dunfee whom he married Dec. 31, 1993; children, Eddie (April) Dunfee and Courtney (Tyler) Countryman both of Coshocton; grandchildren, Iris Dunfee, Thea Countryman and Andrew (Tara) Thomas; great-grandchildren, Nevaeh, Iona, Lydia, Lyric and Reagan; sisters, Cheryl Unger of Coshocton and Carol Sullivan of FL; brother, David Dunfee of Coshocton; and several nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death his daughter, Tami Dunfee; and sisters, Patsy Neidig and Martha Lucille Mercer.

Friends may call at The Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St., Coshocton, Ohio on Thursday, May 5, 2022, from 4-7 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Friday. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, May 6, at noon with Lloyd Tenney officiating. Interment will follow in Coshocton County Memorial Gardens with Coshocton County Veterans Honor Guard performing military honors.
