Edward L. Hagans

Edward L. Hagans, 86, a resident of the Mount Vernon Health & Rehab Center, and formerly of Walhonding, died Friday, August 11, 2023 at the Rehab Center.

He was born Dec. 31, 1936 in New Castle to the late Gilbert E. “Beetle” and Harriet P. (Hoy) Hagans.

Ed was a U.S. Army veteran.  He was retired from Ashcraft Petroleum, enjoyed working on Ford Trucks, Truck Pulls and going to the races.  Ed never knew a stranger.

Surviving is a son and two daughters, David Hagans of Walhonding, Jonalee (David) Bordenkircher of Howard and Mary (Ritchie) Frazee of Mount Vernon.  Four grandchildren, Christy (Seth) Dickerson, Cameron Bordenkircher, Courtney Hagans, and Connor Frazee.  A sister, Gilbretta “Gil” (Olas) Scott of Atlanta, GA, a brother, Rundy (Karen) Hagans of Senecaville.  Three sisters-in-law, Linda Hagans of Warsaw, Mildred Hagans of Coshocton, & Ada (Lawrence) Leaman of Warsaw.  Many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca Joan (Vansickel) Hagans, whom he married Jan. 31, 1959, she died Dec. 16, 2020.  He was also preceded in death by a son, Mark E. Hagans, and two brothers, Roger & Jesse Hagans.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw with Mike Mosholder officiating.  Burial will follow in the Coshocton County Memory Gardens with graveside military services conducted by the Coshocton County Joint Veterans Council.  Visitation is Monday, Aug. 14, 2023 from 4-7 p.m. and until service time on Tuesday.  www.fischerfuneralhome.com
