Elaine (Forster) Staats
Elaine (Forster) Staats, 79, passed away at home on Saturday April 29, 2023.
Elaine was born in Cleveland on September 7, 1943 to Fred J. and Margaret T. (Gedeon) Forster, who both preceded her in death along with her daughter, Vonda King, infant granddaughter, Anne King, an infant brother, and sister-in-law, Kathy Forster. She married William Staats in July of 1965, who survives. She worked for the Apple Valley Property Owners Association for 7 years, and spent 20 years working for the Coshocton County Metropolitan Housing Authority.
Elaine enjoyed sewing, genealogy, gardening, and quilting. She was an excellent baker and cook, and received a Betty Crocker award for her sour cherry pie. She loved her family and especially all of her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband Bill, she is survived by her daughter, Lisa (William) Bushong of Bellville; son Andrew (Laurie) Staats of Issaquah, WA; grandchildren, Benjamin D. Bushong, David Lee Bushong and soon to be daughter-in-law Sara Crotty, and Eric (Ellie), Gideon, and Daniel Staats; sister, Loreen (Dean) Cather of Ashland; brothers, Fred (Lynette), Albert (Kathy-deceased), and Joseph (Charlotte) Forster all of Howard; and son-in-law Greg King.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 3, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Mount Vernon. Rev. Father P.J. Brandimarti will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Luke Cemetery in Danville. Calling hours will take place from 5-7:00 Tuesday evening at the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville, and also an hour prior to the service at the church.
