Elderess Dorcas Elizabeth Yonker
Elderess Dorcas Elizabeth Yonker, age 53, of Coshocton, passed away at Genesis Hospital on Friday, June 28, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on October 12, 1970, to Presiding Elder Caleb Andrew and the late Mother Arentha (Walls) Yonker in Sanford, NC. Elds. Dorcas was a lifelong member of the Supreme Council of the House of Jacob.
A 1989 graduate of Riverview High School, Elds. Dorcas grew and flourished both in her church and her community. After working several years at Jacob’s Dwelling Nursing Home, Elds Dorcas went on to a long and successful career in banking, working for Bank One, Chase Bank and for the past 10 years at Home Loan in Coshocton.
Though not having any natural children, Elds. Dorcas was a great support to countless families in the raising of their children.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mother Arentha (Walls) Yonker but leaves to cherish her memory her father, Pres. Eld. Caleb Andrew Yonker, two sisters Elds Anna L. Yonker and Elds Darlene E. (Deacon Michael) Davis; a nephew Bro. Michael Edmond Davis and a niece, St. Camille Arentha Faith Davis; Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, special Nieces and Nephews, God Children, extended family and friends.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, July 7, 2024, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at The Supreme Council of the House of Jacob First Tabernacle on Monday, July 8, 2024, at 11:00 am with Honorary Senior Bishop J. Matthias Pearson officiating. Burial will follow at Machpelah Cemetery.
