Elizabeth “Beth” Florence Clary

Elizabeth “Beth” Florence Clary, 91, of Coshocton, passed away on Friday, Feb. 11, 2022. She was born on July 9, 1930, in Hinsdale, Illinois to the late Wallace and Marion (Coulton) Brandel.

On April 7, 1957, she married Lawrence “Larry” Clary who passed away in 1986.

Beth worked for the Coshocton County Engineer’s Office for 25 years as the secretary before retiring. She also enjoyed working with her husband, Larry, at Clary Brother’s Florist, which opened in 1907 by Larry’s grandfather. Larry’s father then opened the Clary Brother’s Greenhouse and she enjoyed working in the greenhouse and flower business until it closed in 2010. Beth was proud to continue the Clary Brother’s legacy by establishing Clary Gardens.

She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Beth  is survived by her brother, James Brandel of Jacksonville, FL; several nieces and nephews, Ric Brandel, Karin (Mike) Gorius, Linnet (Gary) Lowe, Beverly (John) Tatro, Bruce (Emily) Brandel, Kathy (Jackson) Dunlap, and April Brandel; along with several great and great-great nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents and husband, Beth is preceded in death by her two brothers, Dick and Ralph Brandel; three sisters-in-law, Florence, Dorothy and Laura Brandel; and nephew, Jimmy Brandel.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2022 from 11 a.m. to noon at Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at noon with Pastor Craig Redecker officiating. Burial will follow at South Lawn Cemetery.

For those who wish, memorial donations may be made in Beth’s name to Clary Gardens, Grace United Methodist Church or to our local Red Cross. Envelopes will be provide at the funeral home.
