Eloise L. Mizer
COLUMBUS – Eloise Lenore (Williamson) Mizer, 96, a resident of The Woodlands Assisted Living Care Center, and formerly of Warsaw, died Monday Oct. 21, 2013 at her residence.
She was born Sept. 22, 1917 in Spring Mountain to the late Lloyd P. and Elva E. (Fox) Williamson.
She was a 1935 graduate of Warsaw High School. She married Lowell Mizer on April 12, 1936, who preceded her in death on Oct. 17, 1972.
She was a devoted wife and mother on the family farm. She retired from Union Elementary School after 20 years as a cook preparing student meals. She was a 77 year member of Perry Chapel Baptist Church, having held many offices there, including co-founding the first youth group along with her husband.
She was a member of the Ohio Eastern Star, and the former Perry Twp. Farm Women’s Club. He enjoyed quilting, knitting, and her senior walking group. She was a well known bingo and hausey player. She especially loved her children and grandchildren, and prayed for them daily.
She is survived by two sons; Norman (Rita) Mizer of Upper Arlington, and Roy (Karen) Mizer of Warsaw, a daughter, Janice (Ken) Underwood of Columbus, nine grandchildren; Mark (Lauri) Mizer, Molly Mollmann, Matt (Jill) Mizer, Jill (Bob) Myers III, Brad (Johnna) Underwood, Kate (Jon) Fletcher, Andy Mizer, Julie Mizer, and Lindsay (Mark) LaSala, and sixteen great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant son, and a brother and his wife, Russell & Josephine Williamson.
Eloise’s favorite scripture was Psalms 118:24, “This is the day the Lord hath made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.” Let us rejoice and celebrate her life with funeral services at 1:00 p.m. Friday at the Perry Chapel Baptist Church, 19476 TR 380, Warsaw, OH 43844, with Pastor David Fowls officiating. Burial will follow at West Carlisle Cemetery. Calling hours are 4-7 p.m. Thursday at the church, and also one hour prior to service time on Friday.
