Emma Jean Brown

Emma Jean Brown, age 97, of Coshocton passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, January 13, 2025. She was born in Guernsey County on September 3rd, 1927, to the late Bion and Blanche Larrick.

Jean was a 1945 graduate of Sarahsville High School, Sarahsville, Ohio. She then moved to Coshocton, Ohio and married Gerald W. Brown. He preceded her in death in 1989. They have four surviving children: Debbie (Bryce) Sayre, Daniel (Patricia) Brown, Donna (Tom) Magness, and Dave (Lisa) Brown, all of Coshocton. Five grandchildren: Lisa (Shawn) Stamp, Eric Russell, David (Katie) Brown, Jim and Sam Magness. Six great grandchildren: Steven and Michelle Stamp, Noah and Hanna Russell, and Gabriel and Gracie Brown. One niece: Kay (Jim) Powell. Two nephews: Charles (Carleen) O’Bryon, and Jeff (Nancy) Zerbe. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, one brother, and one nephew.

She worked at the Novelty Advertising Company for 25 years. She was a very caring, loving, and devoted mother. Jean was a long-time member of New Life Ministries, loved her church family and loved attending church.

The family would like to thank all those who made it possible for Jean to live in her home especially, Cathy Brown, Claudia Bruening, Kay Kroll, Potty Soungradith, Tammy Abner, and Tracy Baumgardner. The family would also like to thank Ohio’s Hospice and her long-time physician, Dr. Gary Carver for their wonderful care.

Private services will be held for the family.  Burial will be at South Lawn Cemetery. For those who wish, donations may be made to New Life Ministries or Coshocton County Animal Shelter.
