A desire to help their community encouraged Dianne and Kenneth Koch to open the EPICenter in March 2019. The center is located at 100 E. Main St. in West Lafayette.

“An epicenter is ground zero, the heart of something,” Dianne said. “We chose the name because Epic means heroic, classic, ambitious, impressive. It goes with our original fitness center motto ‘Don’t be average, be EPIC.”

Their motto for the EPICenter facility is “Don’t have an average event, make it an EPIC one.” Dianne said, “We work hard to assure the people who trust in us have an impressive, fondly memorable event.”

The center can host 50 people at one time. Clients have the choice of using anchored booths with tables, padded chairs or six- or eight-foot tables and folding chairs. A TV with DVD players is available along with a CD player and surround sound. Food must be brought in, but a refrigerator and freezer are available. The couple is still adding amenities to the venue. The facility can be rented for $30 per hour.

Fitness classes are also offered at the EPICenter.

“Classes are for all fitness levels – beginners to advanced,” Dianne said. “Fitness classes incorporate various methods of exercise training, through a plethora of cardio-vascular, weight training and resistance programs utilizing a variety of techniques.” She added that they understand that all bodies are different and that keeping muscles guessing with numerous workout styles creates results.

Some types of classes that are offered include: Kickboxing, Pilates, lower body, step aerobics, abs, low impact and stretching along with several others.

Dianne shared that her fitness classes are currently held on Wednesday nights and Saturdays, but other people sublet the space. “Unique Epic classes are offered as an extension of our Epic PT, which is specific for every client,” she said. “Each training is targeted for your body type and distinctive goal. Together, we help your body build stamina and endurance, strength and tone, as well as flexibility and balance which makes everyday life more pleasurable.”

Punch cards are available for classes and all PT clients can attend classes for free.  For more information, contact Dianne or Kenneth Koch at 740-502-5288 or visit the EPICenter Facebook page.
