Ernest “Ernie” Wayne Thompson

Ernest “Ernie” Wayne Thompson, age 51, of West Lafayette, passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2024. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on August 14, 1972, to the late Jesse and Brenda (McGraw) Thompson.

Ernie was a jack of all trades. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish and hunting. His love language was music and was a talented guitar player. His family meant the world to him, especially his children, grandchildren and four legged children.  Ernie loved playing a good prank but was also the most wonderful loving, kindhearted person you could know.

He is survived by his soul mate and wife of 33 years, Desiree (Fisher) Thompson; his four loving children, Dereck (Amanda), Christopher “Critter” (Lexi), Nikita (Josh) and Eleanor “Nana” (Justin); grandchildren, Tyler, Domanic, Elena, CJ, Mason, Mia, Maizey, Aleaha, Sadie, Levi, Nevaeh and one on the way; his brother, Tom and sister, Vella; and many nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, Ernie was preceded in death by his brother, Terry Lee and several aunts and uncles.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at 11:00 am at the Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Young officiating. Burial will follow at Kings Community Church Cemetery, Newcomerstown, Ohio.
