Ernest L. “Leroy” Tilman
NEWCOMERSTOWN – Ernest L. “Leroy” Tilman, 75, of Newcomerstown, passed away at his home on Thursday, July 5, 2018.
Leroy was born in Charlottesville, VA on July 26, 1942 to the late John and Elsie (Gibson) Tilman.
He was a carpenter and truck driver throughout his life. Leroy was also an avid NASCAR fan and had an extensive collection of NASCAR die cast cars. He was a volunteer fireman for Newcomerstown Fire Department for over 20 years.
Leroy is survived by his two sons Kevin (Angie) Tilman of West Lafayette and Shawn (Patricia) Tilman of Newcomerstown; eight grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; two brothers David (Mary) Tilman and Danny Tilman both of VA; one sister Carol (Frank) Searls of VA; numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Judy Tilman; daughter Paula Slocum; two brothers Johnny and Fulton Tilman.
Friends may call at The Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St., Coshocton, Monday July 9, 2018 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM where a funeral service for Leroy will begin at 12:00 PM. Interment will follow in West Lawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the funeral home to help defray funeral expenses; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
