Esther Gay

Esther Gay, 89, passed away Friday, March 4, 2022, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on Aug. 2, 1932, to the late Harold and Grace (Barthalow) Ridgley. On Dec. 21, 1951, she married Dwight E. Gay who passed away in 2013. Esther loved her children and grandchildren and spent many years taking care of them. She loved to sew, making many quilts, and sewing dresses with her church for missionaries. She was a longtime member of Prairie Chapel. She loved to bake and was known for her delicious bread. She enjoyed shopping and adding new pieces to her wardrobe as she had a great sense of style.

She is survived by her children, Colleen (Ken Posey) Kirker of Coshocton, Cheryl Osborn and Candy (Ronald) Bates, both of Conesville; grandchildren, Tiffany (Jim) Mulford, Angela (Jason McCurdy) Kirker, Hope Kirker, Derrick (Staci) Kirker, Dustin (Dawn) Gay, Katrina Bali, Rocky (Tiffany Cox) Matthews, Cayla Osso, Amanda (Jeff) Baker and Beth (Chad) Cramer; 19 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one brother, Vernon (Darlene Roberts) Ridgley; and daughter-in-law, Ruth Gay.

Along with her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her son, Dale Gay.

Calling hours will be at the Miller Funeral Home on Thursday, March 10, 2022, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with the funeral beginning at 1 p.m. with Pastor Dail Parrish officiating. Burial will follow at Coshocton County Memory Gardens.
