Esther Rine

Esther Velma Rine, 89, of Coshocton passed away at 4:11 P.M., Saturday, September 8, 2012 at Coshocton County Memorial Hospital.

 Born February 27, 1923 at Beck Mills, MechanicTownship, Holmes County, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Russell Luther and Bessie Velma (Eppley) Varns.

 Before retiring, Esther had been employed at the former Alfray Products, Pretty Products and Edmonts. She had attended the 1800 Chestnut Street Church of Christ and will be remembered for her crafting abilities. Her loss of vision did not keep her from sewing quilts, crocheting rugs and other handcrafted articles. Esther loved to share her thoughts on the WTNS Radio Morning Talk Program.

 Esther was first married to Ralph Edward Tipton Sr. and in April of 1959 she married Walter G. Rine who preceded her in death.

Surviving are her son Ralph Edward Tipton ofWest Lafayette, step-daughter Susan Pamela (Neil) Brookman of California; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; three sisters Mabel Goodwin of Holmesville, Ohio; Dolly Hites of Dona Vista, Florida and Nina Butler ofKillbuck, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husbands, Esther was preceded in death by a sister Lucille Varns; and four brothers Cletus, Gene, William and Vernon Varns.

Graveside Services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, September 13, 2012, at Coshocton County Memory Gardens with Lloyd Tenney Minister officiating. Interment will follow. 

To honor Esther’s request, there are no calling hours.
