Ethel “Yvonne” Hood
FRAZEYSBURG – Ethel “Yvonne” Hood, 82, of Frazeysburg went to be with our Lord and Savior Saturday, October 13, 2018.
Yvonne was born April 13, 1936 in Trinway, Ohio. She was the daughter of the late Leslie E. Freshwater and the late Ida E. (Braudy) Freshwater Holdren. Yvonne was a 1954 graduate of Frazeysburg High School and was a 60-year member of the Frazeysburg United Methodist Church. She sang in the church choir and from 1990 to 2010 was a member of Social Concerns Committee. She was a former member and Past Worthy Matron of the Order of Eastern Star in Frazeysburg. Yvonne enjoyed helping the Frazeysburg Lion’s Club with many fundraisers; she participated in a Community Theater Group for the Lions Club and she was the head of the Frazeysburg Lion’s Club Fall Bazaar for 16 years. Yvonne worked at various restaurants, and after graduation worked for Rex Wilson as Secretary of Frazeysburg School. She later worked at Brockway Glass for 5 ½ years and then at Dillon State Park, at the Campground Store for 7 years, before becoming a stay-at-home mom. Yvonne enjoyed bowling, crocheting, being a part of the Cut-Ups Quilt Group at the United Methodist Church and her annual Christmas shopping trips to Akron with her sisters and family, but her greatest joy in life was her 12 grandchildren and her 22 great grandchildren.
Surviving are her 3 children Leslie D. (Mike) Bebout of Coshocton, Donald D. (Robin) Hood of Frazeysburg and Ida E (Bobby) Lewis of Nashport; 12 grandchildren Chad (Angie) Bebout, Valerie (Matt) Miller, Derrick (Amy) Hood, Dustan (Casey) Hood, Heidi (Van) Adams, Angie (Dennis) Summers, Traci Liggett, Jared Hood, Katelyn Coats, Tayler (Derek) Hoge, Logan Lewis and Landon Lewis; 22 great grandchildren; one sister Joan E. (Milan) Jurich of Akron; several nieces and nephews and her 3 beloved cats Baby, Precious and Snooks.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, David L. Hood, whom she married August 11, 1954, David died December 1, 2017; step-father Adolph Holdren; sister and brother-in-law Carol (Don) Hindel; daughter-in-law Karla Hood.
A memorial and celebration of Yvonne’s life will be held at The Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main Street, Coshocton on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at 10:00 AM.
