Evelyn Alice (Bickle) Tubbs

Evelyn Alice (Bickle) Tubbs, age 89, of Coshocton, passed away on Friday, January 29, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Fresno on May 7, 1931 to the late Florence (Philabaum) and Harry Johnson. Evelyn married James Tubbs who passed away on March 3, 2015. Evelyn was a stay at home mom, together with her husband, they raised 10 children. Evelyn stayed very busy helping to care for her grandchildren. She also cared for many elderly people in their home well into her 70’s.

She is survived by her children, Ed (Carolyn) Tubbs of Zanesville, Tim (Sue) Tubbs, Dave Tubbs, Merri Wilson, Anthony “Tank” Tubbs, Renee Wilson and Scott “Chopper” Tubbs all of Coshocton; two brothers-in-law, David Tubbs and John Phillips, both of Coshocton; 15 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 4 great great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and cousins.

Together Again

Along with her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her sons Jon and Tom Tubbs and daughter, Cheryl Donley; son-in-law, Dave Fry; brothers; Vic (Virginia) Huffman, Jim (Leah) Bickle and sister, Myrtle (Ross) Lewis and younger sister, Tootie Johnson; her in-laws, Earl and Lucille Tubbs, Mary and Fred Howlett; sisters-in-law, Judy Tubbs and Marilyn Phillips; brother-in-law, Larry (Moria) Tubbs.

Calling hours will be at the Miller Funeral Home on Thursday, February 4, 2021 from 11am to 1pm. The funeral service will begin at the funeral home at 1pm with Pastor Bill Jones officiating. Burial will follow at the Coshocton County Memory Gardens.

The family would like to thank all the girls at Interim and Community Hospice for all the help and care of Evelyn these last few months.

Due to Covid-19, we are requiring visitors coming to the funeral home to wear their own face mask.
