Everett ‘Red’ Jones

Everett “Red” Jones, 76 of Plainfield passed away at his home on Friday, October 12, 2012, after a courageous battle with cancer. 

Red was born to the late Ernest and Naomi (Reed) Jones on August 27, 1936, in Columbus, Ohio.  He served in the US Marine Corp overseas in Japan and Hawaii and drove semis throughout most of his life. 

Red is survived by his wife Mary J. Jones; children Brandy (Troy) Bricker of West Lafayette, Carol Jones of Plainfield, Robert (Missy) Jones of West Lafayette, Marsha (Bill) Davis of Plainfield, Susan (Art) Swauger of Coshocton and Virgil (Deanna) Jones of Plainfield; grandchildren Gavin Bricker, Chase and Kolby Jones, Becky (Perry) Derr, David, Amy and Bobbi Arotin, Michael Jones, Kasi (Joe) Koerner and Perry Jones; several great grandchildren. 

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife Ziola Jones and daughter Amber Jean Jones. 

A memorial service for Red will be held at Shepherds Christian Assembly, 311 Main St., Coshocton on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at 6:00 PM with Pastor Starkey Lawrence officiating. A celebration of life party will follow at Virgil and Deanna’s House, 16795 SR 93, Kimbolton, all are welcome. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to help defray funeral expenses.
