Experience an old fashioned Christmas at Roscoe Village

| November 25, 2022

The 51st candlelighting will be held in Roscoe Village on Saturday, Dec. 3 and Saturday, Dec. 10. The event is free and is a special way to begin the Christmas Season.

The candlelighting ceremony begins at 6 p.m. at the main stage in the village and there are activities planned in the afternoon for everyone. Carolers will be walking around the village and Santa will be welcoming visitors. Complimentary hot-mulled cider and cookies will be available.

The story teller for Dec. 3 is Madison Miller and for the 10th in Mary McMullen.  At press time, the official candle lighters have not been confirmed. After the candlelighting ceremony, lantern tours will be offered. Ticket holders will take a tour through the village by lantern light and learn about Christmas traditions that were celebrated in the 1830s. The lantern tour for Dec. 3 is sold out, but tickets are still available for the 10th.

Christmas crafts will be offered. There will be candle dipping, Christmas card making and quilling an angel. Tickets must be purchased for these crafts and space is limited.

Tickets for the lantern tour and Christmas crafts are available on the Roscoe Village website.
