Family Fun Day and seminar to be held

COSHOCTON – The Barefoot Mile Coshocton will be having a Family Fun Day on Saturday, Sept. 12 from 9 a.m. – noon at the Himebaugh Lot on Seventh Street. There will be inflatables, basketball shoot out, games, face painting, concessions, and live music. Cost is $3 per person and $10 for a family.

The Barefoot Mile walk starts at 10 a.m. Bring a donation of any amount to participate. All of the proceeds will go to JOY International for rescue missions and rehabilitation efforts.

Meet Dr. Jeff Brodsky, president and founder of JOY International and learn why he has been totally barefoot for more than five years.

The event is sponsored by Coshocton churches in partnership with JOY International, an organization devoted to the rescue and restoration of child trafficking victims.

There will also be a trafficking prevention seminar on Sunday, Sept. 13 from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Coshocton Baptist Church located at 1631 Denman Ave. in Coshocton. The seminar will give trafficking facts and warning signs and how to safeguard children from trafficking. There will be a question and answer session afterward.

Brodsky will be sharing with parents and teens about the current methods being used by predators in recruiting teens for the purpose of human trafficking. He is a national and global expert on child trafficking and has spoken at many conferences.
