Fatal motorcycle accident reported

COSHOCTON – On Sept. 20, the Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call in reference to a single vehicle accident on SR83 about a mile south of CR91.  Upon arrival of sheriff’s deputies, it was determined that Jerry Dunfee, 71, of Coshocton had been traveling southbound on SR83 on his 2013 Harley Davidson three wheel motorcycle, when a deer ran into the pathway. Dunfee struck the deer and went off the right side of the roadway and down a small embankment. Dunfee’s motorcycle struck a fence and then overturned. Dunfee sustained serious injuries as a result of the accident and was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Coshocton County Corners Office.

Assisting at the scene was Three Rivers Fire District, Coshocton County EMS, REACT and Prince’s Wrecker Service.

This incident remains under investigation by your Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office.
