Fatality reported on State Route 621

COSHOCTON – On March 24, 2019, at approximately 7:46 a.m. a deputy was stopped by a passerby advising that they noticed a vehicle on its top on SR.621 just north of Memorial Gardens.

Upon the deputies arrival it was found that a 2006 Nissan Pathfinder being driven by Karalee Powell (32) of Fresno had been traveling northbound on SR.621. As the vehicle came out of a slight curve in the road. The vehicle then drifted off the right side of the roadway. The vehicle continued northbound off the roadway and then struck a cement culvert and overturned several times ejecting the driver from the vehicle. Ms. Powell was pronounced deceased at the scene by Coshocton County Corner Dr. Robert Gwinn. Alcohol and speed are believed to have been contributing factors in the accident.

Assisting at the scene was the West Lafayette Fire Dept., Three River’s Fire Dept., Coshocton City Fire Dept., Coshocton County EMS, REACT and Prince’s Wrecker Service. This accident remains under investigation.
