Father Tom Gardner will speak at March 19 luncheon
The third Lenten Luncheon will be held Wednesday, March 19 with Father Tom Gardner of Sacred Heart Catholic Parish and St. Peter Parish in Millersburg as the speaker.
Father Gardner’s topic is “Connecting to God Through Lament” using the text from Psalms 13 and 22. The luncheons begin at 11:45 a.m. and end at 12:45 p.m. They are held at The Presbyterian Church, 142 North Fourth St., across from the court square.
Father Gardener earned a Master of Theology in Evangelization and Catechesis from the Pontifical College Josephinum and was ordained a priest in 2015. He has served in parish assignments all over Central Ohio. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, camping, hiking and boardgaming. Father Gardner will sing “Were You There,” accompanied on piano by Roger Besst. His presenter will be Deacon Doug Mould of Sacred Heart Parish.
Christa Citola, Kay Dunfee and Karen Bowman of Church Women United coordinate the churches that provide soups, pies and workers for the luncheon. Members of Fellowship of Christian Athletes and their leader, John Strasser, volunteer their time to augment the church workers. Churches assisting with the third luncheon will be Emmanuel Lutheran and Isleta United Methodist. Chef Mike Cichon and his culinary arts students at the Coshocton County Career Center will provide one of the soup selections. Donations received from those attending benefit Church Women United’s Clothe a Child project that provides clothing and shoes for children in need in Coshocton County.
Parking remains an issue for those attending. Carpooling is a necessary objective to make sure there are enough parking spaces available. The parking area adjacent to the church should be considered as much as possible, for handicapped individuals even though those spaces will not be marked as handicapped.
