Finalists selected for piano competition
Auditions have been completed and the finalists for the 33rd annual Edward E. Montgomery Jr. Piano Competition have been selected.
Junior division finalists are: Kenley Hayes, daughter of Melissa and Biff Hayes and Lydia Black, daughter of Kirsten and Kory McPeck. The winner, selected from these finalists will receive a $250 cash award from The Montgomery Foundation.
Senior division finalists are: Kate Uhlig, daughter of JoAnn and Rod Uhlig; Kennedy Kittell, daughter of Tiffany and Kevin Kittell; and Kiera McPeck, daughter of Kirsten and Kory McPeck. The winner selected from these finalists will receive a $1,000 cash award from The Montgomery Foundation.
On Sunday, June 6, beginning at 7 p.m. at the Roscoe Village Foundation Visitor Center these local students will perform on the Montgomery Piano before a panel of five judges. Adjudicators representing Coshocton County Schools are Tom Havelka, Alan English and Jane Crow. Those from the University community will be Dr. Harsha Abeyaratne from Muskingum University and, Dr. Gerald K. Lee from West Liberty State College.
Due to present COVID mandates seating space is limited and the performances will not be open to the general public.
