Forbes named Conesville Plant Manager
CONESVILLE – Ryan Forbes has been named plant manager at AEP Generation Resource’s Conesville Plant in Ohio. This promotion is effective immediately, according to Mike Zwick, who recently was named managing director – Generating Assets Ohio GENCO.
In his new role, Forbes oversees all aspects of plant operation and maintenance. This includes safety and human performance, continuous improvement and the facility’s unit, environmental and financial performance.
Forbes was named Fleet Operations Performance Manager in 2016. He was responsible for implementing innovative process improvement initiatives and solutions for the Generation Resources fleet.
Forbes joined AEP in 2007 in the Flue Gas Analytical group at the John E. Dolan Engineering Laboratory. He subsequently held the positions of chemist and plant environmental coordinator, environmental and lab supervisor, process supervisor supporting the flue gas desulfurization process, and maintenance superintendent, all at Conesville.
Forbes has a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences and a master’s degree in industrial and systems engineering, both from Ohio University.
Conesville Plant is a competitive, three-unit coal-fired facility located at Conesville, Ohio. All three units are fully equipped with environmental controls. The plant has a total generating capacity of 1,590 megawatts (MW), of which AEP Generation Resources owns 1,149 MW. The plant’s unit 4 is co-owned with Dynegy and DPL.
