Fred D. Barr

Fred D. Barr, 75, of Coshocton, passed away at his home on Wednesday, August 24, 2022, after an extended illness.

Fred was born in Wooster, Ohio on August 13, 1947, to the late Fred G. and Patricia A. (Rickenbaugh) Barr.  He honorably served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam and was a truck driver for Yoder Lumber for many years.

He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.  Fred also enjoyed working around his home, tractors, and training horses.

Fred is survived by his wife Sheryl A. (Jones) Barr whom he married on October 9, 1998; five children Holly (Reggie) Gayhart, Howard Barr, Russell Barr, Nathan Barr, and Kimberly (Vernon) Yoder; three step children Nathan (Heather) Moore, Amy (Matt) Limburg, and Daniel (Lindsey McCullough) Moore; grandchildren Justin (Addie) Wengard, Melanie (Jeremy) Partin, John Gayhart, Harmony Barr, Wendell Barr, Zoe Ruby, Bentley Ruby, and Everly Yoder; step grandchildren Curtis Moore, Trent Moore, Paige Stone, Ashlyn Stone, Jace Limburg, and Hudcyn Limburg; four great grandchildren; two sisters Carol (Delbert) Colard and Cathy (John) Firebaugh; mother in law Beverly Jones; several nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister Rose McCallister, granddaughter Lyndsey Barr, and father-in-law Robin Jones.

Friends called at The Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St., Coshocton on Friday August 26, 2022, from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM.  Funeral services for Fred were held at the funeral home the following day, Saturday, at 2:00 PM with Mike Stutzman officiating.  Interment followed in Fairfield Cemetery, West Lafayette with Coshocton County Veterans Honor Guard officiating.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Akron Children’s Hospital, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
