Fred E. Williams
Fred E. Williams, 85, of Coshocton passed away at Grant Hospital in Columbus on Tuesday, April 19, 2022.
Fred was born on May 1, 1936, in Roscoe, Ohio, to the late George Jackson and Zelma (Elder) Williams.
He graduated from Roscoe High School in the class of 1954, served in the United States Army and retired from AK Steel in Coshocton.
Fred was a lifetime member of Central Christian Church and the Coshocton Elks Lodge. He and his wife Barbara were also members of the Coshocton Campers Club and loved spending their winters in Florida. Fred enjoyed golfing, playing Texas hold’em at the Elks, throwing horseshoes, tinkering in his garage, spending time outdoors mowing grass and treasured his time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara J. (McFarland) Williams who he married June 9, 1957; daughter, Renae (Ron) Roupe of Pataskala; son, Rob (Peggy) Williams of Coshocton; grandchildren, Michael (Karisa) Roupe, Tyler (Megan Wilson) Williams, Michelle (Corey) Reeves, Justin (Becky) Williams, Saul (Cara) Arthur and Fawn (Michael) Farhat; 19 great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert (Shirley) Williams of Athens, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Megan Renae Williams, and siblings, Helen Guy, Max, Bill and Charles Williams.
Friends may call at The Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St., Coshocton, Ohio on Saturday, April 23, 2022, from 3-6 p.m. where an Elks service will begin at 6 p.m. Funeral services for Fred will be at the funeral home on Sunday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Stewart Royce officiating and Coshocton County Veterans Honor Guard will also be performing military honors at the funeral home.
