Fred L. Babcock
Fred L. Babcock, age 84, of Coshocton, passed away on Tuesday, March12, 2024. He was born on August 17, 1939, in Coshocton, Ohio to the late William McKinley and Mary Matilda (Wolford) Babcock.
After graduating from Coshocton High School, Fred joined the United States Marine Corps, serving his country proudly from 1956 to 1959.
On September 22, 1960, he married the love of his life, Nancy (Richard) Babcock who preceded him in death on August 15, 2009. Fred enjoyed golfing, fast pitch softball, being outdoors and spending time with his family. He was a member of the VFW and the Army Navy.
Fred is survived by his daughter, Sheila (Delvin) McFadden; five grandchildren, Todd (Aimee) McFadden, Jay McFadden, Christopher (Kinsey) McFadden, Haylee (Nick Cox) Babcock and Katrina Richcreek; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Jack Babcock; and several nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents and wife, Fred was preceded in death by his daughter, Cheryll Richcreek; grandson, Michael McFadden; great-granddaughter, Kaylee McKnew; and siblings, Maxine Burkey, Bob, Jess, George, Jim and Glenn Babcock.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Bill Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie Chapel Cemetery with the Coshocton County Veterans Council Honor Guard conducting military honors.
